It’s Women’s Empowerment Week in Montclair and East Side Mags has some awesome stuff in store (literally) for everyone!
First off - did you know comics aren’t JUST for boys? There’s literally tons of women artists and writers and even more comics focused on female protagonists! We’ve got a MASSIVE selection of comics, trade paperbacks and hardcover graphic novels featuring female super-heroes or everyday women doing amazing things. Whatever your tastes - super-hero, horror, adventure - we’ve got it and we’re happy to point you in the right direction to find something you’re sure to LOVE!
Next - we’ve got a bunch of really great anthologies that have proceeds going to great causes from Mine! which supports Planned Parenthood, Where We Live which supports the victims of the Las Vegas shooting, Bingo Love which tells a true romantic, love story featuring LGBTQIA characters, Love is Love which also supports the LGBTQIA community and more!
Last (but never least) - East Side Mags will be collecting monetary donations and physical items for SAVE of Essex County / Family Service League. We’ll have a donation jar at the counter for monetary donations and a basket where you can drop off the physical items for inclusion in rape care packages that SAVE / FSL uses to assist victims of rape/sexual assault while providing support to said victims. Some of the physical items you can donate are:
Sweatpants - size Large or XL
Sweatshirts - size Large or XL
T-Shirts - size Large or XL
Travel size shampoo, conditioner, lotion and deodorants
